About Honest Home Inspections, LLC

My name is Scott LeMarr, sole proprietor of Honest Home Inspections, LLC. My experience in residential real estate goes back well over thirty years when I purchased my first home at a very young age. Since then I have moved my family ten times, relocating to different cities six of those ten moves. Five out of the ten moves included hiring a home inspector prior to closing on our home. We were only satisfied with one out of the five and thoroughly disappointed with one individual. When I found myself at a crossroads with Corporate America there was a strong desire in me to help people and when the decision came to pursue a business on my own I was reminded that there was a need for high quality home inspectors. In addition, I would be able to help people with my experience and knowledge.

During my research on the business of home inspection, several people were asked, including some realtors, what they were looking for in a home inspector. Surprisingly honesty came up several times. Thus, after an education with American Home Inspectors Training Institute, Honest Home Inspections, LLC was established in 2005.

My education at Wheeling Jesuit University and my education at American Home Inspectors Training Institute both stressed the importance of an honest and ethical business. I am happy to be a sole proprietor of my own business as it allows me to provide to you with an honest, moral, and ethical home inspection business. Additionally, I have a degree in the Mechanical Sciences from Indiana State Vocational Technical College which provides me with a strong technical background and a BA From Whelling Jesuit University. In addition to all of that, I have completed a variety of courses on Business Management, Residential Furnaces, National Electrical Code (NEC) , Mold Inspection, Mold Assessment, Radon, Indoor Allergens, Water Bacteria, Structures, Accounting, Computers, Metallurgy, Project management, and Time Management. I am still continuing my education.

I am currently serving as the Vice President of the state of Wisconsin chapter of the Inter-National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (WiNACHI and NACHI). I am one of the founders of the Muskego based Business Network International (BNI) group. I am a Certified MASTER Inspector (CMI®) And the only Home Inspector in WIsconsin to reach the certification of MASTER Indoor Environmental Specialist (MIES).

During my families many relocations, all of the homes purchased needed remodeling. We painstakingly remodeled each and every one of them, replacing needed components such as roofs, siding, furnaces, A/C Units, additions, decks, plumbing, electrical, etc. I have been through both the pain and the pleasant experience of hiring contractors and doing the work myself. During this time I also purchased investment property further adding to my experience in real estate and in older homes, several over one hundred years old.

My Family and I live on one of the many inland lakes in South Eastern Wisconsin and enjoy quality family time like boating, water skiing, personal watercraft, motorcycles, or just hanging out on the lake together and relaxing. Beginning with my grandparents my family has always lived on or near lakes or rivers, which in turn provides me with the added experience of understanding homes on or near water. Homes on or near the water often have unique situations that not everyone is aware of.
