Scott LeMarr

Scott C. LeMarr is the President of Honest Home Inspections and Milwaukee Mold Inspector, a division of Honest Home Inspections. Scott started his Home Inspection business in 2005, as an adjacent business to LeMarr & Sons Properties, LLC that has been purchasing distressed property since 1979, selling some and holding others to lease.

Scott is a graduate of American Home Inspections Training Institute with certifications as a residential inspector. Scott also holds his bachelor’s in Management from Wheeling Jesuit University and a degree in Mechanical Science from Indiana State Technical College. Scott has taken a myriad of additional courses from Metallurgy, Moisture Intrusion, Log Homes, Attic Ventilation, National Electrical Code, to Finance for Small Business. Scott has logged over 1,000 hours of continuing education credits since starting his Home Inspection business in 2005.

Scott’s certifications are: Board Certified Master Inspector (CMI®), Laboratory Certified Mold Inspector and Assessor (CMIA), Certified Indoor Air Quality Technician (CIAQT), Master Indoor Environmental Specialist (MIES), which is the highest credential given from Environmental Solutions Association, State Certified and licensed for Wisconsin Rental Weatherization Program, Certified by the Midwest Universities Radon Consortium to measure radon, Certified to provide EDR Neighborhood Environmental Reports, Certified Level 1 Thermographer (thermal imaging), Certified to provide Green Plumber Water Audits, Certified for using Serum mold remediation chemicals and techniques, and Certified in Carbon Fiber Stabilization foundation repair only to name a few.

Scott is a member of the Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors (WAHI), International Association of Certified Indoor Air Quality Consultants (IAC2), Environmental Solutions Association (ESA), Scott is a past President and one of the founders of the Muskego Chapter of Business Network International (BNI), Scott is an active member and on the Mold Committee for the Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors, and is the President and Educational Director for the Southeast Wisconsin chapter of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (SEW InterNACHI).

In the past twenty five years Scott moved his family ten times, purchasing mostly distressed property, giving him an in depth insight into residential building rehabilitation. Scott became a home inspector after the sudden loss of his first wife who was a disorders counselor. Her main goal in life was to help people. After her death Scott searched for a business he could use his experience in residential rehabilitation to help people and to try to carry on a legacy. Home inspection was an easy transition for Scott. Early in his home inspection career he discovered mold in several houses and had a difficult time getting answers to his mold questions. So he began his in depth, and continuing, study of mold and residential buildings bringing him to the experience and education he has today.

Scott is a frequent guest on the Redefined Real Estate Show, Saturday mornings on WISN, an occasional guest on the Accunet Mortgage radio show, has been a speaker for the Home Stagers Association, a speaker for the Milwaukee Real Estate Investors Group, a speaker for the Healthy Home Symposium, has been on a panel of experts for the Milwaukee Real Estate Investors Association, and has taught classes for the Wisconsin Chapter of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (WiNACHI), the Southeast Wisconsin chapter of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (SEWNACHI), and the Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors (WAHI). In addition Scott frequently teaches classes on mold for Realtors, contractors, and mold remediation companies.

Scott lives with his wife Michele in Muskego, WI and has five grown children , ten grandchildren, and two Bichon Frises to help keep him healthy with nightly walks. Scott is a workaholic but also enjoys recreational boating, car shows, and has restored a 1977 Honda Goldwing.
